2015 Rumor Roundup Part 3: Samsung Galaxy S6

The Korean tech giant Samsung, are weeks away from announcing their latest Flagship and successor to the S5, the Samsung Galaxy S6. The S6 release/preview has been announced on Samsung’s Twitter, and will be taking place at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona, on March the 1st, featuring Samsung’s own Unpacked Event.

As many people have heard, the S6 will combine luxury/design, with high end performance. Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge was surprisingly a popular handset, sporting a unique right-hand side bezel screen. Samsung teased their device on Twitter already, even specs have been leaked. They have not officially announced it, but they announced the preview date on the 1st of March.

It seems new leaks of this highly anticipated flagship are surfacing almost every day, so let us begin the gathering of the internet’s best rumors/speculations. Welcome to part 3 of Androidfact.com’s 2015 Rumor Round up, featuring the Samsung Galaxy S6, and S Edge.

Let’s start with Software

We all know Samsung’s android interface, Touchwiz, is notorious for having a huge amount of obsolete Bloatware, which often times significantly reduces your system’s performance and storage by having unnecessary background processes running at all times. This also takes a toll on battery life. Samsung had revealed plans to touch up their current interface, and make Touchwiz less “Bloaty.” They plan to get rid of some of the bloatware, probably not all of it, while also simplifying the GUI, even comparing it to the likes of the Nexus 6.

As covered in the Pre-MWC 2015 Update, we already know that multiple case manufacturers like OBLIQ have already leaked their schematics for the S6’s case, which resembles a lot like the leaks of how the device is already going to look like.

It looks like the S6 is packing some serious hardware, enough to rival that of other flagships. Samsung reportedly had problems with overheating on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 Chip, so Samsung opted to go with their own line of Chipsets, the new Exynos 7420, featuring a double Quad core cortex A53, and A57. It also looks like Samsung will follow suit with the Note 4’s display, offering the S6 a QHD display instead of the traditional FHD. Pixel density has increased significantly, being around 400 was the average pixel density for average to high end smartphones, the S6 is rumoured to pack almost 600 PPI. Just today, GSMARENA has leaked images and speculation of the new battery the S6 is supposedly coming with. It features a 2600mAh lithium ion battery, a 200mAh decrease from the previous S5.

There are many different photo leaks of the frame or “case” of the actual device, many are saying that the frame will be made out of aluminum, others are saying plastic. We have gathered some frame leaks that the device should be sporting.
