How to do a screenshot on any Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone.If you are one of the lucky owners of a Android phone with Android 4.x ICS your phone has the ability to do screen captures. Hardware buttons lets you snap a screenshot and store it locally. Once the picture has been stored you can locate in your ScreenCapture folder situated in your gallery. When you have located the picture a multitude of actions are available to you. Simply press the menu button and you can share it with your friends via your favorite social media, set it as a background image on your phone or edit the picture.


  1. Press and hold the power and the volume down button at the same time.

  2. The phone will use a second or two to register the combination. Do not release before the confirmation pops up.
  3. Let me repeat some key words here : Press and hold and the words at the same time.
To let you know that the action was successful the phone will flash and the screen will be framed. Secondly you will get a message in the notification area. If you pull down the notification area you will see a thumbnail of your screen dump and if you go ahead and press it you will be taken directly to your ScreenCapture folder in your phones gallery.

    I made the mistake of updating my samsung tab to the latest android version and I’m not happy. There used to be a screenshot button next to the home key and now there isn’t. I was also able to add and delete screen pages by simply tapping and holding and a menu would appear, but now it doesn’t give me the option to do it. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

  3. Found out about Screenshot Ultimate on Play. Works on all my devices and even Google TV. Great free app, only takes a little while to get used to the layout.
