Flappy Bird gets pulled from Play store and App store in 21 hours

Lately we have been hearing how the creator of Flappy Bird has made more than $50.000 a day.

Well that is about to come to a halt, at least if we are to believe what creator of the game Dong Nguyen tweeted about an hour ago.

He does not say why, only that the game will be pulled in 22 hour from the time of the tweet. All we can do at this point is to speculate at the reason why he would do such a thing. That is unless this turns out to be some sort of new and elaborate marketing trick.

I can only imagine the number of downloads this game will rack up from now until the game gets pulled.

Here is the tweet and what he has tweeted since the news hit us.

“It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore.”

“I also don’t sell ‘Flappy Bird’, please don’t ask.”

“And I still make games.”

It is kind of hard to imagine someone pulling such a fantastic success from any store. The only reason we can think of, besides it being  a marketing stunt, is that the creator has received a lot of negative feedback. Maybe so much that it is hard to deal with for a single person.
