How to screenshot on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

How to screenshot on Android 4.1 Jelly BeanAmong the things we now take for granted in our Android Os phones is the ability to take screenshots. It was not always like this though. In the beginning of the history of Android it was not unusual that you would have to root and install software to get this job done. Thankfully this is not the case any longer. If you are the lucky owner of a device running Jelly Bean you are going to appreciate the ability to take screen dumps on your phone or tablet. If you want to share with someone what is going on on your screen this is the easiest way to do this.

How

  1. Press the volume down and the power button at the same time.

If your device is not running Jelly Bean jet you could try using the stock ice cream sandwich screenshot tutorial
If you have now been able to successfully take a screen dump on your device you will hear a sound and see a flash that confirms that a screenshot has been saved to your gallery. If you want to take a look at the screenshot right away you can pull down the notification area and press the thumbnail of the picture to take you directly to the gallery.

  4. I guess I got the solution for Samsung Galaxy S2 + Jelly Bean

The shortcut is: Power Button + Home Button

But, to avoid getting the task manager when long pressing on the home button as you try to get a screen capture, You’ll need to EMPTY task manager first. Once done, the above combination will work like a charm!

    Cheers

  20. So it appears they did away with the “hand scanner” method of taking a screenshot during the upgrade to 4.1.1 – or is it just my particular ROM that didn’t incorporate this? I recently flashed the CM10 nightly on my Galaxy Note and have been overwhelmed to find out every feature works flawlessly so far. This was the 1st thing I even came across that I wasn’t sure if it were left out by JellyBean or CM. Any insight would be appreciated!

    • I had CM10 before on my SGS2. Now its Stock ;-)
In CM10 i was able to bring a screenshot button into the
turn-off screen (Power 1sec). I had to turn this option on
      in the phone preferences.

Sorry for my english. I´m from Germany
