second galaxy s5 update improves camera startup speed

At the time the Samsung Galaxy S5 hit stores not much longer than a month ago, an update was already waiting to be installed. Right now the second firmware update is seeding to users across the UK.

According to the reputable website Sammobile this update improves the startup time of the camera and the gallery. Another thing that I think would make a lot of people happy is that the accuracy of the fingerprint scanner has been improved. This is good news indeed as we found the scanner extremely hard to get working with single handed use. It will be a great day indeed if this means we will be able to unlock our S5 with our thumbs.

The update is currently only available to UK consumers and only by using Kies, the computer program supplied by Samsung. Likely the update will hit many more countries in a short while.  OTA ( over the air ) updating is also likely to start seeding within a short period of time.

Another update hits the Samsung Galaxy S5

The update does not change the Android Os version from 4.4.2. Hopefully the S5 will get Android Version 4.4.3 or 4.5 not long after it’s likely announcement later this year.

If you are not certain how to manually check for updates I recommend you check out our Galaxy S5 update tutorial and our: How to update the Galaxy S5 with Kies tutorial.
