Where you expecting a flexible or a pre bendt phone when Samsung and LG announced their Round and G Flex?

The race to be the first company to release a bendable smartphone resulted in a victory for Samsung with the Samsung Galaxy round.
Beating LG and their G flex with a small margin.
HEY WAIT just one moment. Did we really wait for a bendt phone ? I was under the impression that we where waiting for a phone that
would bend into multiple shapes, not just a phone that came pre bendt from the factory. Honestly didn’t the Galaxy Nexus s come with a
curved display way back in December 2010.

Sadly this kind of technology does not impress me much, as I was expecting one of the big cell phone makers to release a phone that could change shape
based on the input given by the user of the phone.

By all means, the Galaxy round and the G Flex looks really cool. But it kinda feels like they have the technology to make them but don’t jet know
exactly how to use it. Why are the screens curved ? Does it really offer something to the user experience ? I have a feeling that the release of these new phones
came about as a result of the manufacturers wanting to be the first ones to release one, and nothing else.

2013 is the year that smart watches really caught the interest of the general public. And bendable phones is something that is talked about a lot.
I think I am going to wait to get one until the time I can get a phone that can be used as both. A phone that bends around my wrist so I can use it as a watch.
Isn’t that what we are all really waiting for ?

  1. LG’s model has been shown to bend… But there’s also a PC board, battery, tap components, etc… Those don’t flex
