How to screenshot on Samsung Galaxy s3 mini

From time to time an occasion arises where you will think that I wish I could capture what happened on my phone right now.

If you are the lucky owner of an Android smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy s3 mini this is your lucky day.

Actually the S3 mini has 2 ways yhat you can do a screen dump. In this tutorial I will show you both ways

How to capture the screen on the Samsung Galaxy s3

First way to do a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy s3 mini

    1. Press the power button and the home button at the same time.
    2. Hold for about a second or so.
    3. That’s it. If this was useful why not

Your phone will let you know that a screenshot has been stored by playing a sound and flashing the screen. In addition a message will show up in the notification area letting you know a picture of your s3 mini screen has been stored.

This is the alternative way of capturing your Galaxy s3 mini screen

Put your palm on the right side of the screen and swipe to the left.

  1. Put your hand on the right side of your phones screen so it touches all of the right side of the screen.
  2. Swipe your hand towards the left side of the screen.

If done correctly this will make your phone do a screen dump. This one is kinda difficult to master but don’t give up you will get it right in the end. Best way is to stick to the first way as described at the top of the article.

Another thing that you have to make sure of is that the swiping way of taking pictures of your s3 mini screen is enabled in settings. If you are not sure how to do this  follow this route : On your home screen click Apps – Settings – Motion. Once here don’t just turn motion on but rather press where it says motion to bring up another sub menu. Now scroll down to Palm swipe to capture and tick this one on.

Once the screenshot has been taken you can find it by going to your phones gallery which can be found among the rest of your apps, or on your home screen if you have made a shortcut to it.

Home + power should do the trick
Important to push them both simultaneously

      There’s no other way installed
      I just tried, it works

      • My s3 mini will only screenshot if you press the power button + home button + volume button all at the same time. Hope it helps. It took me forever to figure it out myself when these other posts didnt help.

        • No need to push the volume button.
Just click the home and power button at the same time (not one first and then add the second, that won’t work). Works fine on mine!
However, the second option is simply not available on my phone, though I do have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini: I cannot activate “Palm swipe to capture”.
But the first suggestion works fine. Thank you!
