How to screenshot Xperia Z1 Compact

How to take a screenshot on the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.

Once I get a new cell phone, the first thing I check is how to do a screenshot on my new device. To be completely honest I actually never ever buy myself a new phone, before making sure that this is a feature that the manufacturer has implemented into the phone.

The ability to capture what happens on a cell phones screen is very important when you run a website like this one. If this was not an option my site would be a little less illustrated.

However I suspect that many more would like the ability to do screen dumps on their phones if only they knew how. Thankfully you came to my site, and I will show you how to do it.

  1. Press and hold the power button and the volume down button.
  2. Actually that is it, Just make sure that you press them at the same time, and that you keep them depressed until you hear a shutter sound and see you screen flash.
  3. If this was useful why not

To find your newly made picture go to your phone’s gallery and open the screenshot folder. This is where you will find them and also where you should go if you want to edit or share them with your friends or colleagues.

  1. I tried and it worked!
It has been ages since I was trying to explore how to do a screenshot on my phone.
    Thanks a Lot!

  2. It did not work for me.. Instead pressing the power button gave me a pop-up menu. From there I could choose: screen shot.

    Then it worked

  3. Brilliant, thank you for an easy answer. It works !

  4. Just what I needed. Thanks.

  5. I have tried this with my phone and it doesn’t work; it just turns the volume down. Could this be because the operating system upgraded itself to Android 4.4.2?

  6. Great tip, I was worried when I switched from Iphone that the new phone wasn’t going to be able to do the screen grabs.

  7. After a lot of attempts at this with my phone in a case I have found the following: It works out of the case, but when the buttons are impeded (i.e. covered by the case) the phone shuts down. This may vary depending on the type of case one uses; I use something from CaseMate.

  8. I believe that there’s an easier way to do it. At the software buttons push the one with the rectangulars, go to the right and push the violet button. That is all!

  9. All it did for me was turn my phone off?

    • That is very strange. It works as a charm on my phone. Are you sure that you press them at the same time. And that you hold them for a few seconds…

  10. Thanks for telling the world this great combination!

  11. THANKS… for that.

    • Thank you for leaving a reply after you found what you needed. Most times I only ever hear something when people have a hard time getting it right. I am delighted that you found a way of doing screenshots on your phone.
