Microsoft now has 55 apps in Google play store

Lately we have been hearing that Microsoft is planning to invest in Cyanogen. But that is not the only clue we have that the giant is looking for a way into the Android scene.

With the release of the outlook and office apps they now have a total of 55 apps on the Google play store. And from the looks of it they are not doing a too shabby job. Simply by looking at the install numbers of the newly released Office mobile app we can see that it has already reached a considerable 10 – 50 million installs.

That’s not to say their all that successful, simply by looking at a few of them I found several that had less than 50000 installs.

It turns out they have released several games. I had no idea.

We already know that Microsoft makes a lot of money from the Android Os phones simply by owning several patents that most phones needs to utilize for it them to function. I’ve heard estimates of somewhere between 1 and 5 USD per sold unit, but also as high as an estimated $20 per sold phone.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how this mega company in the future possibly expands into the world of Android.
